ここまでのジャズ系ミュージシャンのアレンジから、日本のCITY POPの源流ともいうべき、ティン・パン・アレー、ムーンライダーズ流れのテイストを取り込んだサードアルバム。プロデュースは小坂忠が担当。ムーンライダーズの鈴木慶一が「悲しきセクレタリー」をアレンジ、山下達郎が“日本最高のピアニスト”と評する佐藤博のプレイが効いている「最後の手品」など、参加ミュージシャンの競演も聴き所の一つ。今作も佐野元春が全11曲中7曲を共作(「日曜日のフラッパー」と「ミスティ・マジック」の2曲が佐野元春作曲作品)。そして、カヴァー楽曲へのチャレンジが今作からの新機軸。南佳孝の代表作『摩天楼のヒロイン』に収録されていた「おいらギャングだぞ」、ムーンライダーズのカヴァー「悲しきセクレタリー」(オリジナルは「女友達」)、さらにはウィスパー・ヴォイスの根源ともいうべきマリリン・モンローの「愛してちょうだい」(映画『お熱いのがお好き』より)をカヴァー。

A work that shows the roots of Japanese CITY POP, Tin Pan Alley, Moonriders and Whispering Voices. Two bonus tracks are included.
This is the third album, which incorporates arrangements by jazz musicians, as well as the tastes of Tin Pan Alley and Moonriders, the originators of CITY POP in Japan.
Produced by Tadashi Kosaka. Keiichi Suzuki of the Moonriders arranged “Kanashiki Secretary,” and Hiroshi Sato, whom Tatsuro Yamashita calls “the best pianist in Japan,” plays well on “Saigo-no-Tejina." Motoharu Sano co-wrote 7 of the 11 songs on this album.
The challenge to cover songs is a new innovation in this album.
The album includes “Oira-gang-zazo” from Yoshitaka Minami's masterpiece “Matenrou-no-Heroine,” a cover of “Kanashiki Secretary” by the Moonriders, and a cover of Marilyn Monroe's “Aishi-te-choudai,” which is the root of the Whispering Voice.
